If you’ve seen the Sound of Music then you’ve caught a glimpse of the Austrian Alps, where you can hike areas such as the Zillertal Valley in Tyrol during the Summer, and hit the powder in ski resorts like St Anton in the Winter.
The country also has a rich history and culture, and the historic city centers of Saltzburg, Vienna, and Graz have all been listed as World Heritage sites, though are still easier on the wallet than much of Europe.
