Food Tour 2018: New Orleans

I am working to do more to support the few women who are recognized and encourage further growth in the numbers of successful women chefs. It’s time for my Tour of Food. My goal is to visit as many restaurants on this list as possible, planning several micro-trips. Fly in. Dine. Fly out. Join me in this new adventure and let me know if you have visited any of these spots.

Let’s Eat: World Tour of Food

Eating Time in NOLA

With My Beautiful Niece (Thing 3)

First trip on the Foodie Tour is this city that I have not visited since the late 90’s. Joining me will be my niece who turns 16 in 2018. All of my nieces and my nephew share parts of my personality but Gracie shares my love of food. She takes risks and is not afraid to try new food. So I am excited she will join me on this quick trip.

The privilege of being uncomfortable

It’s easy to remain ensconced in environments where our views are never challenged, and our way of life is never questioned. But growth, understanding, and inclusivity come from experiencing the unfamiliar, from recognizing and respecting the diversity of the world around us.

911 Memorial - Remembering 15 years later

The memories remain. And the triggers exist.

People ask whether I still think about September 11th. The memories remain. And the triggers exist. And so occasionally I will write about it. I will always think of those who lost their lives simply because they went to work. I will always be grateful to those who lost their lives actively running toward the danger. And I thank God for pulling me through and helping guide my path that day and every day.
