And with the country so large and diverse, their experience will differ vastly depending on where they visit. Most of my work has been in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. But the majority of the photos below are from our 2006 vacation in the largely Rajasthani areas once the domain of the kings of India. We spent lots of time in Udaipur, Jaipur, and Agra and enjoyed exploring the great palaces. Difficult to comprehend, however, was the incredible difference between the wealth and opulence we saw in the gates of the palace and hotel compounds and the sad poverty outside.
